Kylie and Audrey - Hayes Street, SF

Kylie: "I just like to look silly. I like to look a little bit stupid and wear things that kind of don't work. And I'm all about being naked on the bottom, that's my favorite, that's the only rule."
Audrey: "She (Kylie) inspires my style a lot. Not what I'm wearing today, but usually I just feed off of other people whom I'm hanging out with a lot."

Short A-line dresses and short shorts spells the beginning of San Francisco's summer (finally :)).

A look at their gladiator sandals and Vans slip-ons.

Alison - Hayes Street, SF

"Probably what inspires my style is color. I love color."

I like how she's wearing colors and a style that emphasizes (and flatters) her form. It's a weird thing, but most women (in San Francisco) wear clothes that are either too tight or too loose (I admit to being guilty of this on occasion). Alison knows how to wear her clothes well.

A look at her lovely silver flats.

Jes - Haight Street, SF

"I guess my style is inspired by friends I respect and things I see around."

There is something very nostalgic (and almost classic) about the white tuxedo shirt paired with shorts and Wayfarers. There's also something very Risky Business about it.

Rachel - Church Street, SF

"This outfit is inspired by economy, I bought it at a Salvation Army. But generally I like buying clothes that you don't see everywhere."

I like the bright bold pattern of her halter dress.

Lisa - Haight Street, SF

"I guess - folk music."

Another example of a woman wearing a vest to add pizazz. I also like that her bracelets match the vest.

A look at her white sandals. I think they're very cute in their simplicity.

Leigh - Fillmore Street, SF

"Saving money."

I'm noticing a lot of women wearing vests around the city. I like how she wears it, only partially buttoned. Also, her asymmetrical haircut looks very now.

Lovely rounded turned-up-toe pump. I'd totally rock these.

Franz - Valencia Street, SF

"The Ska and Rockabilly movement in the 80s. I was in high school, that's when I got into it, I never got out of it."

I like that he's referencing a movement in the 80s that through fashion referenced previous eras, in this case the late 50s/early 60s.

Pinstripes and perforated two-tone dress shoes.

Riannon - Valencia Street, SF

"Circus Victorian attire."

I'm not sure if you can tell, but she's wearing a cotton corset-esque top and bloomers (not a dress), so there is an element of saloon girl. When she moves the outfit rustles a little.

There is a special place in my heart for huaraches (which I wore as a youth).

Jane - Valencia Street, SF

"I was thinking sort of a VIRGIN SUICIDES, a little bit of Catholic school thing going on, but also sex with anonymous strangers on the roof going on - like in the movie. A little bit of the waiter thing going on too."

I like the element of parochial schoolness in her outfit. On warm days, a crisp white shirt looks like a classic.

I like her black jazz shoes smartly worn with bobby socks.

Tricia - 18th Street, SF

"Oh god - thrift stores. I don't look to a lot of other things except for my own intuition to what I think looks good."

I love her ability to sculpt an outfit through layering and clever use of colors, proportions and accessories. Also! I have a thing for small leather jackets on women.

Lovely yellow leather snake skin t-strap Mary Janes.

These photos are the result of a lovely afternoon spent with the very talented Tricia of wardrobe_remix. Besides allowing me to take her picture, she kindly kept me company along one of my photo walks. Here's her coverage of the afternoon. Thanks Tricia!

Julia and Jason - Dolores Street, SF

Julia: "My day off inspired this outfit."
Jason: "Oh whatever was clean."

I like their bold colored shirts and how they unwittingly compliment each other's outfits.

I love her great 70s inspired bag (from Therapy).

A look at their footwear.

Steven - Haight Street, SF

"Comfortable, I guess. I like clothes, but not fashion."

Every once in awhile I can enjoy a polyester 70s print shirt on a guy.

Bo, Crystal and Yuri - Dolores Park, SF (Quick Shots)

Sarah - Hayes Street, SF

"In general, I'm very inspired by a very easy breezy French lifestyle."

I really like how she wears her cardigan with her sequined headband.

Notice how the leather of her sandals matches the leather on her LV bag? And how the wash of her jeans match the headband and diamond shapes on her cardigan? Gold star Ms. Jones, gold star.

Pam - Fillmore Street, SF

"I find most of my clothes on the street around here."

Humor in fashion is big for me. Also, he seems to have an 80s new wave band member vibe going on.

Monique (a.k.a. Fauxnique) - Duboce Park, SF

I've taken a photo of Monique before, in my early "trying to get used to my camera" days.

I love her large hoop earrings, her red lipstick, her dress, and her sunglasses.

How great are her red platform espadrilles?

Monique can usually be found preforming as Fauxnique around town.

Jessica - Fillmore Street, SF

"I found this [dress] at a vintage store. I love the print. I love big flowers. I like the style kind of like 50s housewife, I guess."

I really like Jessica's dress and belt, but what made me cross the street to stop her is her hair. Her hair and it's beautiful color and geometric, asymmetrical cut. Good hair (especially when it's windy) in San Francisco is a thing to be admired.

A look at her patterned leggings and sandals.

Carolina - Haight Street, SF

"I like solid colors. And I usually wear all black, so a little bit of color helps me keep it plain."

I'm still a fan of color blocking. I'm also digging her very large hoop earrings.

Hunter - Haight Street, SF

"Shall I put on my hat?"

I like how Hunter wears suspenders and a belt on his trousers.
