Robin - Golden Gate Park, SF
"I just wear what I feel comfortable in."
When I spotted Robin walking in Golden Gate Park, I did a double take. Partly because he dresses a tad better than the average 20-something in SF (nice cardigan and vest), but also because his jeans didn't really make sense to me.
You'll notice that his crotch is low, sitting between his thighs, but his jeans are actually sitting on his waist. Apparently the Scandanavians (he's Swedish) have come up with a solution to falling down pants, increase the length of the crotch to waist area. It sort of flies in the face of current visual fashion preferences, but makes sense - why make it uncomfortable to a wear a lowered crotch jean (SF denizens are always pulling their low-waisted jeans slightly up)? When you can comfortably wear a raised waist with a lowered crotch? They've made these jeans functional without sacrificing the form. Though I'll admit I'm still digesting the aesthetics of the silhouette.
A look at his shoes.
