Surge - 8th Street, SF

"Basically I just wear whatever is comfortable. I try not to look too high maintenance, cause a lot of my friends tell me that, but I'm not high maintenance. That's pretty much it."

I like her cute empire waist dress worn with the white coat and her fantastic hosiery tucked into her black boots. There was a time when black and blue were a no-no in fashion, I'm glad that time is over.

Cute elf like ankle boots/ booties.

Jenna and David - Dolores Park, SF

Jenna: "Um, sailors."
David: "How cheap I can buy the pants."

Blue and black in the park on a sunny day. I like that they look like they could be on a "walk of shame" stroll. The contrast of possible night going-out wear and the bright, bright sun is fun.

A look at their shoes hiding in the grass.

Skeet - Dolores Park, SF

Here is Skeet again. Looking stylish in his madras cut-off shorts. I told him I thought they were daringly short (yet stylish) for a straight guy. He pulls it all together with classic Ray Ban wayfarers. I like how he looks country club with the polo shirt and madras shorts, but when you get closer, he's a little grittier than typical country club. It's a refreshing twist to how typical guys in SF dress in warm weather. (This time I'm sparing you the shot of the flip-flops.)

Lark - 18th Street, SF

"Since I got this [dress] in Hong Kong, I'm gonna say travel."

Dress with a cute 80's reminiscent print, she looks put together, yet carefree. Check out her simple double hoop earrings.

A look at her perforated (snakeskin?) leather flats.

Aaron - 18th Street, SF (Quick Shots)

I like his faded gray and blue, especially worn with those simple black shoes. There is something nostalgic and okie-esque about it.

An okie.

Kyle - 8th Street, SF

The 19th Century."

I like the idea that Kyle looks ready to battle (or at least lead the charge against)...traffic. Love the layering of gray and blue and the fun of wearing a costume-ish outfit while biking around on a sunny day in San Francisco.

These black riding boots are gorgeous.

This post is for Meligrosa, who proves that looking fabulous and biking is possible.

Rosalee - 8th Street, SF

"My style is inspired street wearing graffitti culture. I'm sponsored by DimePiece designs."

Magazines and trend watchers keep wanting to see skinny jeans go the way of the music CD, but everytime I see denim like the ones that Rosalee is wearing. (Ruched on the side seam!) I have a feeling that skinny jeans will remain popular for at least a few more seasons. Personally, I think skinny jeans make people like me (short, athletic) look taller than we are and I'm not gonna say, "No", to that. Also, on the topic of Rosalee's outfit, besides wearing a cute hat, how lovely is Rosalee's short black trench coat?

A look at Rosalee's pretty ankle boots.

Commentator, Emily, guessed correctly that today's theme is tan/brown shoes with black tights/socks/leggings. Yay Emily!

Brittany - 8th Street, SF

"Um, I'd say probably art and the streets of San Francisco."

Brittany has these simple elements to her outfit, but together they form a cohesive whole that makes me want to look through her closets. Let me elaborate: 1. Threadbare v-neck shirt with a perfectly faded image of different feathers; 2. Pale, pale denim, something I predicted will be very popular soon; 3. Great flats with diamond shapes on them with contrasting black socks; and 4. Hot pink tote, simple in design, bright of color. And everything worn with big round sunnies (I'm partial to big sunnies). Judging by these individual pieces, I have the feeling that anything Brittany pulls out of her closet will look great.

How great are these functional and comfy looking, but still chic shoes? Answer: Really great!

This theme might be subtle, but can you spot the theme that Brittany shares with Miranda?

Miranda - 8th Street, SF

"Just pretty much: I think it's my Mom's fashion back in the day. Looking at her pictures from the 70s and 60s. Things like that."

I love her black lace dress, it's brevity less obvious because of the black tights. I also like how she brightens up an all black outfit by throwing in elements of brown at her feet (shoes) and shoulder (handbag).

Cute brown booties, that might've possibly been loaned to her by a Keebler elf.

Shelley and Zach - Valencia Street, SF

Shelley: "My grandmothers usually."
Zach: "What's comfortable. It was kind of hot today, but not really hot. So, that's it."

I like that Shelley and Zach look like they could've been extras in American Graffitti. A simpler time when madras, moccasins, clean, bare faces and clothes that fit well were the norm.

A look at those cute matching moccasins.

Also! I'm back on doing themes again! This is, of course, pairs.

Tiffany and Crystal - Magic Marketplace, Las Vegas

Tiffany: "I'm just really in love with techno color and anything that just has bling to it. So the bracelets and the boots just add the extra flair to the design I have on. And I made the design I have on."
Crystal: "I pretty much just love Caribbean culture. I'm Creole, so I'm just inspired by that."

Love, love their bright colors and bold jewelry (earrings, chain necklace, belt!). These women really know how to style themselves and highlight their figures. A++.

A look at studded boots to die for and stiletto sandals.

Sai and Merritt - Valencia Street, SF

Sai: "Usually I just try to keep warm."
Merritt: "We're not good at that; having inspirational answers."

I like how they are both wearing varying shades of earthy brown, like a paint strip. They seemed charmingly aghast that I would think they were fashionable.

A look at their shoes, sensible and flat, great for walking along Valencia Street.

Lela - Alameda Flea Market, Alameda

"Honestly, mostly gypsy. I'm an artist, so I like to be a little unique and that kind of gypsy mystique is something I enjoy."

I like her scarf *just so* over her beaded necklace and her floral dress with the pattern on the skirt. Her tote also has a lovely floral pattern. Additionally, note her smart floral belt cinching her dress.

A look at her suede boots.

Seraphina - Valencia Street, SF

"Oh the sunny beautiful weather. I think so."

Lovely dress and cute pink cardigan on a sunny day in the Mission. Perfect.

Sexy red patent two strap mule sandals.

Gigi - Alameda Flea Market, Alameda

"I'm dressing for trying things on, I guess. I like vintage clothes and putting them together in new ways."

I like her colorful outfit and the slim silhouette. It all looks a bit like a mini outfit, the proportion is really visually interesting to me.

A closeup look at her tights and shoes. Unadulterated street fashion is sometimes a little rough, it's what makes it great! :)

Gemma - Magic Marketplace, Las Vegas

"Probably ridiculous cutting characters and looking like a 90s mom."

Wearing mom jeans with a floral print blouse is definitely a step towards looking like a 90s mom. Gemma is a bit too stylish and put together to sell the total package though, she'd be a mom for sure, just not a soccer mom.

I love these worn wing tips.

Alex - Magic Marketplace, Las Vegas

"Probably just vintage and I quite like gothic and metal bands intertwined with quite cute."

Where do I start? Her awesome teased hair, so carefully crafted? Her totally futile glasses frames, sans lens? I think actually that it's her great cardigan, so comfy looking, yet stylish with the black stripes. I also dig the shoe laces as belt on denim shorts, I want to think it was a fluke, that she didn't plan it, but the lens-less glasses tells me different. It all doesn't matter though, she looks haute hot. And I only wish I could be as cool.

Lovely patent leather tassel loafers.
