Tara - E. 6th Street, Austin [SxSW]
"American rock'n'roll."
Knit and red, white, and blue stars seemed perfect in Texas.
Sparkly Keds.

Sarah - E. 6th Street, Austin [SxSW]
"My style is inspired by a cross-section of Dolly Parton and Stevie Nicks. I'd be in the middle."
The print on this short caftan is lovely, but it's Sarah's hair that really shines! So big and blond and amazing. Those bracelets and bangles definitely puts her in the "more is more" camp.
There's a lot of Texas in these booties.

Liana - E. 6th Street, Austin [SxSW]
"Anything tribal. Africa and Egypt - especially."
Love this dress, how the print looks almost applique and that wonderful gold neck piece.
Reinforced-toe boots with lace fishnets.

Jacorie - E. 5th Street, Austin [SxSW]
"Thinking... Art. I just dress. Today? My heritage."
The Texas shirt with its proud implications, worn with an ethnic fabric turban? This outfit is inspired and witty at the same time. (I'd wear this outfit head-to-toe except for my lack of connection to either Texas or turban, which would then convey a very different message.) So, yay Jacorie!
Oxfords showing an interesting weathered look.

Diamond - E. 5th Street, Austin [SxSW]
"Everyday people inspire me."
Diamond has posted in a few months, but her blog is worth a look. Besides talking about fashion broadly and personal style specifically, she also discusses minority representation in mainstream fashion magazines. I love her mix of high and low here: the silk skirt is gorgeous and juxtaposed with the leopard print cardi and worn with the wife beater with printed Coors logo? She looks just about perfect.
A look at her boots.

Sarah - E. 5th Street, Austin [SxSW]
"Chicks on Speed and Peaches. And other bands like that."
Sarah is the bassist of Go Chic, an appropriately electro punk band from Taipei. I love her DIY sliced tee, blue ocelot print leggings, and those beautiful oxfords. There were a lot of good looking oxfords in Austin this year.
The aforementioned lovely oxfords.

Dana - Easter Sunday, Dolores Park, SF
"My sisters are in town and I just want to look cute for them."
There is something about Dana's mid-80's-esque silhouette that reminds me of Diane Franklin's outfit (see below) as Monique in Better Off Dead. I haven't seen any online kudos to the awesome wardrobe that French exchange student Monique sports in Better Off Dead (hint-hint fellow bloggers), but I've referenced her style before.
Tapestry western cowboy boots.
