Azure - 18th Street, SF
"The 1960s, Andy Warhol, and black and white."
Something so Duran Duran circa 1980-81 about this outfit (images below to support this thesis). It's a look whose streamlined yet masculine silhouette has yet to recycle through mainstream menswear. Azure's outfit caught my eye, but I now realize it may have been my brain's pattern recognition at work. Long dormant synapses firing in remembrance of my 7-year-old self singing along to the seductive staccato of The Chauffeur (a song whose lyrics I surely didn't understand, even if I loved it at the time). After all these years, the clean lines, and black and white, still look sophisticated and worldly.
"You sit beside me, so newly charming. Sweating dewdrops glisten, freshing your side." - Duran Duran
A look at his patent leather oxfords.
Classic Duran Duran pose with petulant expressions in black and white. Observe the simlarities.
Ditto on the outfits, but I'm posting this photo because there aren't many posed Duran Duran photos where they break from their petulant or stony expressions. There's real joy in Simon's and Andy's faces, and though it is obscured, maybe Roger's too.
Azure is raising funds to finance a film, if you're interested in finding out more, you should contact him.
Photos of Duran Duran from Google Image Search. Could not easily find a copyright or photographers' names, will be happy to credit/remove/replace if asked to do so. Cheers.
