Doesn't Mike look like someone who might consider shopping at Indochine? I like the slim silhouette, yet loose feel of his wool suit. It looks perfect for a tie optional spring day.


These shoes scream casual with a touch of avant garde. The soles are thick, almost clownish, the walk the line of old skool and new exaggeration-ness. I want to know what these trainers are about.

I find his polka dots and pompadour to be happy looking/inspiring. I think Kurt Loder was the last time I saw men wear such bright button downs. (You'll have to trust me on the Loder reference, he seems to be wearing black in the photos on the interwebs, but I distinctly remember his colorful button down shirts when he read MTV News in the 90s.)

Gloria: "I don't know. I just put on whatever I feel like dressing."

I like how the two ladies contrast, one a floral dress and denim jacket, and cowboy boots; the other a tuxedo jacket with a great Coco Chanel costume jewelry pin, sparkly necklace, and amazing over the knee brown boots.

I like how they both combined unexpected elements for an amped-up day look. Her asymmetrical haircut, sequin blouse, and booties are tempered by her denim jeans and cheery yellow handbag. His sport's team shirt is dressed up by the slight shimmer in his cardigan mixed-up with the unexpectedly preppy deck shoes.

I like Mami's topknot, her layers, and how she vaguely looks like she's in a retro-modern stewardess outfit. That neck kerchief is particularly interesting. (Draws the eyes in.)

There is so much great detail to her outfit. Check out the asymmetrical collar with the studs and how they go down her jacket in a slight skewed fashion? How about her haircut or those shoes? And her jewelry, she's what the 90s dreamed of, but could never quite approach. I wish I was this creative with black, maybe I would wear it more often if I was.


Amazing velvet boots and those lace tights with black insets? So good.

Aaron and Kana - Magic Marketplace, Las Vegas

Aaron: "What inspires me is Euro fashion, you know Rock'n'roll. I like black. I like leather. That's all. I like fur, I don't have fur on me... I like edgy."
Kana: "My fashion look is black lace mixed up with leather."

"What inspires is my style is, I just really love vintage. I really love vintage and I kind of like mixing it up with new stuff. I actually cut the bottom (of this dress) and made the tie from the material. I'm into reinventing things."

I like how Bryan wears clothes that both fit well and are drapey at the same time. He plays well with proportions in the same outfit, he's also wearing the very on-trend color olive.


Great rings! The left one (on his right hand) is a two-finger Surface to Air ring of the outline of the US.

Courtney - Alameda Flea Market, Alameda

"I guess Japanese street fashion in general, mostly Lolita."

Courtney walks that line between the cartoon character (Strawberry Shortcake, perhaps) and the popular darker Lolita style. I find her outfit to have a Stepford quality that is both intriguing and frightening. That frilly blouse is A++ and so are those tights, tights I would cut someone for. (If I were the type to cut someone for tights.)


Her shoes are plain to offset these amazing gold shimmery tights.

Abigail - Magic Marketplace, Las Vegas

"I really like to mix texture and color and patterns that you wouldn't necessarily put together, so that's kind of it. Just kind of pushing the buttons when it comes to patterns and building a lot of texture from those patterns."

I like how she pattern mixes and makes what would be an evening gown suitable for day wear.

Wendy of Edmonton's Rowena has a retro pin-up thing going on, but also, that dress with the gathering in the bodice and waist? That looks pretty darn sexy.
